Our local Historical Society chose 4 artists to represent in the Henry County Historical Society Museum and luckily I was one of them. I will have one wall in the museum's main room to display some of my photography during the hoiday season. I'll post some pictures of my photos hanging in the museum once the exhibit starts. This is as good as it gets to me. It combines my love of local history with my hobby of photography...pretty cool. Mark

Thanks Sherry and Marlene....I'm excited about the exhibit. Marlene...you could take photos just as easily. That's the great thing about digital cameras....they make great pics! It's something everyone can do. I feel so lucky to have been chosen by the museum.

I really think you have a special talent..plus patience. Also, you were able to get a nice camera..I think. Mine just stinks!! Around here I don't need a camera to take pics of my Grandsons as my Son takes tons. Otherwise, maybe I'd try to splurge on one. I may be wrong, yet I also think you live in an area that offers great things to take pics of..like the Amish, country, city, etc..Honestly, there's very little of interest to take pics of near me..Even if I were to try to take a longer drive..there's just really nothing much. In Detroit, we use to have a great shopping place called J.L. Hudson Co. It was located downtown & everyone really loved that old place. Downtown Detroit fell into very hard times..the store closed..& has since been demolished. Another place that held a close spot in Detroiter's hearts was Tiger Stadium. The Tigers were moved to a new, fancy ball park & no one had the bucks to save good ole Tiger stadium..so, it too, has been demolished. Seems that's the story of almost every place close to the hearts of locals. The Ford Rouge plant is waaay to big for me to capture a decent pic of..& I honestly can't think of much more. Even my pretty flower garden went to weeds back when my husband was sick.
Anyway, just maybe the day will come where I'll have some extra money & splurge on a new camera. I've loved taking pics since I was very young & feel it's something I'd enjoy..if only I had something or someone to take pics of. Oh well...I'll see. PS: Sorry for the BOOK!!lol...Oh yes, meanwhile I'll just enjoy your great work. K?

Hey Marlene...I bet you could find lot's of things to take pics of! I thought the same thing when I first started. I thought there was nothing but cornfileds here...ha. But I found some pretty interesting stuff. If you have a camera with 6 Megapixels or more...you can take wonderful shots and blow them up to a large size. I hope you splurge and get a camera and start clicking away...it's fun and relaxing. Mark

Hey Mark, That sounds like a wonderful idea!! Right now I have to dish out $$ for a car, so am probably going to be running short for awhile. Thinking the Holidays are really going to be lean.
Anyway, if I do feel I'm able to look into a new camera..hope you won't mind if I contact you as to the type, etc that might be best. (yet not to pricey.) I just know I'll forget what you wrote here & would lose a note if I tried to save one for later. Heaven knows, I really could use something relaxing & fun!!!
